This property was once much larger than it is. The property to the east was part of their garden. The garage was built before the alley was paved and it was made narrower by the garage which encroached into the space. There was a wood burning stove in the kitchen. There was a coal chute to deliver coal into the basement. We are the second owners of this home that was built in the very early 1900's. Marie Imhoff was born here and left this home when close to 90 yrs of age in 1982. The Imhoff family washed the sheets for the Brown Palace Hotel. We had the clothes lines to prove it. I expect the family stored crops from their garden in the root cellar that is still here. There is a chicken coop to prove that the family has eggs which were probably sold in the neighborhood. if anyone has a desire to investigate this area in greater detail, please feel free to do so.
