1725 WILLIAMS ST

Printer-friendly version

According to Denver building permits, 1725 Williams Street was constructed in 1891 for John L. Timerman, an agent for the Chicago Safe & Lock Company.

The Denver firm of Balcomb & Rice is listed as architect, and Frank Bayer as builder. A permit was pulled that same year for a large carriage house at the rear of the lot.

Balcomb & Rice , a partnership formed in 1886, opened their first office in the now demolished Tabor Block at 16th and Larimer streets. The firm designed several landmark buildings in Denver, including the locally designated Flower-Vaile House (1610 Emerson Street), and the National Register-listed Bouvier-Lathrop House (1600 Emerson Street) and John S. Flower House (1618 Ogden Street).
