The Denver Assessor’s website lists the construction date for 1275 Clarkson Street as 1928. A building permit (#2256) pulled in 1927 confirms this date is approximately correct. Contractor Gerald J. Volcklandt is listed as the owner of the building as well as the builder. No architect is named on the permit.

This apartment building was built by my great-grandfather, Gerard Volcklandt, who went by Jack. He named the building the Sylvia Mae after his only daughter, my grandmother.
