1269 N Ogden Street was constructed in 1901 (permit #1777, October 8th, 1901), for owner Carrie Headquist. No builder or architect is listed on the permit. Headquist purchased this lot, along with several others on the same block, in 1900. The land for this home was purchased for $2000, and the warranty deed stipulated that any dwelling constructed on the property cost at least $4500 to build.
Headquist rented out the home before selling it to Esther Sheuerman in 1903. Scheuerman was married to Cyrus Sheuerman, owner of the Sunnyside Liquor Company located at 15th and Champa in downtown Denver. The Sheuermans, along with daughter Flossie, lived in the home until 1908.
